Sen. Barack Obama

Okay, I have to say this, my number one gripe with Barack Obama is that while so many are calling him a uniter, and a bringer of hope, all I see is the opposite. He damages the gains that have been made in race relations. He embodies a double standard that isn't acceptable. If someone wants me to look to them as "bringing people together" then they damn well should be doing it and not just when a camera is pointed at them. For all those excuses about his church and Rev. Wright I have to ask why it is excusable to preach blame and hate just because he is african american? How can excuses be made for a man who could have been a leader in his community and stood up and said it was time to move on and change the world instead of pointing fingers and being bitter but who instead sat and did nothing? How can I be expected to believe that he is honest or reliable when he either didn't notice the hate being spewed by Rev. Wright or he didn't care? How can he represent healing if he is part of the segment of society that believes that children are responsible for their ancestors actions? He certainly didn't care to preach his message of hope and healing to his own community until it would get him votes. There are people all over the country and the world who spend their days repairing the damage that prejudice and inequality have caused. This man didn't. Sitting idly by while a new generation listens to a man who influences them by making them angry at entire generations of people over injustices that weren't started, continued or approved of by them does as much damage as the original injustices did. I can't believe that people just buy into the rhetoric. Actions really do speak louder than words. There's more to healing than getting people registered to vote. Barack Obama never put his money where his mouth was until he had a horse in the race. I'll vote for a healer when a healer actually comes along. I can see the difference between a healer and a snake oil salesman, the healer heals even when nobody is looking regardless of skin color and the salesman only pushes his product with promises of great reward when there is something to gain. I know which Barack Obama is, why don't you?

Go Ahead ! Tell me I'm wrong if you think so, but have the courage to stand by your beliefs. If you believe something it shouldn't matter that I believe something else. Make your point.

Okay, I really want to try this. In my opinion, discussion and debate are essential to keep the USA free and informed. It's what makes us who we are, the ability to disagree and present opposing viewpoints. I want to see if we can get everyone to respond to these questions WITHOUT any of the typical crap we hear day in and day out through media sources. Just your (hopefully informed) opinions. Maybe we can air it out since I'm getting more and more angry and think maybe if I talk to people about the issues, without all the idiotic stuff I have to dig through on most sites, I'll understand what the other side sees, a perspective I'm missing completely at the moment. Oh, and if you want to add questions we can add anything you want to talk about.

The Rules:

1. You are not allowed to use "candidate speak" (ie. maverick, devisive, distraction, ginning up, caribou barbie, etc.)

2. NO RHETORIC! Use your words not theirs and if you give info back it up, don't just say the candidate said so because they have both lied and been caught and while one claims he isn't a politician, they both are.

3. NO NAME CALLING!! Of candidates or each other, and most of all not of me.

4. Answer based on the PRES candidate, unless/until one of them dies we're stuck with these two.

5. I'm right !!! Just kidding, well ... mostly kidding.
