Go Ahead ! Tell me I'm wrong if you think so, but have the courage to stand by your beliefs. If you believe something it shouldn't matter that I believe something else. Make your point.
Okay, I really want to try this. In my opinion, discussion and debate are essential to keep the USA free and informed. It's what makes us who we are, the ability to disagree and present opposing viewpoints. I want to see if we can get everyone to respond to these questions WITHOUT any of the typical crap we hear day in and day out through media sources. Just your (hopefully informed) opinions. Maybe we can air it out since I'm getting more and more angry and think maybe if I talk to people about the issues, without all the idiotic stuff I have to dig through on most sites, I'll understand what the other side sees, a perspective I'm missing completely at the moment. Oh, and if you want to add questions we can add anything you want to talk about.
The Rules:
1. You are not allowed to use "candidate speak" (ie. maverick, devisive, distraction, ginning up, caribou barbie, etc.)
2. NO RHETORIC! Use your words not theirs and if you give info back it up, don't just say the candidate said so because they have both lied and been caught and while one claims he isn't a politician, they both are.
3. NO NAME CALLING!! Of candidates or each other, and most of all not of me.
4. Answer based on the PRES candidate, unless/until one of them dies we're stuck with these two.
5. I'm right !!! Just kidding, well ... mostly kidding.

The economy and defense matter most. I of course feel that McCain addresses economy fairly and I fell he is much better regarding the defense of the country. I know it isn't a prerequisite to be in the military but it certainly is a plus.
The economy for sure and I believe the way America is viewed around the world. I think Obama is certainly qualified and seems more together when answering the economic questions, and I think John McCain has changed; I remember him as cool and funny, and now he seems like a hot-head and a snob.
I couldn't give a rats ass what people around the world think of the USA. PUH LEASE! We don't stone women who are raped. We are the World Welfare System. Have disaster? We'll pay to fix it. Have anything useful? Feel free to promote hate against us and make us pay three times more than any other country. They can keep their opinions, who cares. If we could only get them to dislike our money and assistance ....
I won't say economy because I think it can be targeted much more accurately. The problem is government taxing and spending. If our government spent less it wouldn't have to tax more which would allow for more economic growth solving your gripe and mine. I certainly don't think Obama gets it or even can understand the problem. His tax plan is directly opposite JFK's, Reagan's and mine. If you continually raise taxes on business you force them to move outside the US, raise the cost of the services/products, hire less if they are dumb enough to stay here and slow raises and benefits that they would have provided otherwise. Taking money from the wealthy taxpayers and handing it out to those that don't pay taxes does absolutely ZERO to create jobs, expand industry, promote people to look for employment or reduce our national debt. I'm starting to wonder how much it will cost us to move to Australia, seriously, we're looking in to it. Can't see a reason to stay and get hit by Obama with these proposed tax increases, are you ready for this, 33% increase in capital gains and dividends taxes (laughable that anyone will even see a capital gain for a couple years), reinstatement of death/inheritance tax which is in the process of being phased out, increased trade tariffs (which I'd before if prices on US items weren't going to rise as well nullifying any benefit), and a new payroll tax of 7% (so much for that tax cut you are being told you are getting) which will help pay for his healthcare plan (which will also increase the deficit because it can't cover it). Did I mention that when corporate taxes are raised that we'll all be paying more for ... everything? Those companies will do what they have always done and pass on the financial costs to the consumer.
I'll just ask one question.
How could you support Hillary Clinton and her economic proposals and be so critical of Obama's? They are in nearly every respect identical! In fact the only difference that comes to mind was that she was very critical of his health plan because it didn't mandate that everyone be covered. Wouldn't that have been more expensive? In fact that is the thing that I truly can't get my head around. Did you support Hillary because she's a woman or because of her policies? If it was the latter then Obama's policies should please you because for all practical purposes they are the same.
No, his shouldn't. First, I don't agree with HRC on every issue. I think she's working too hard to give everything away as well, just not as hard as Obama. He's admittedly the most liberal member of congress, HRC is being ranked somewhere around 16th which means she's not yet moved that far.
Second, sure I wanted a woman in the white house because I know that there is a perspective that has never been there which would represent half of the US.
Third, I give her credit for voting for the Iraq war because with the information they had at the time it was a good call which makes me question Obama's saying he wouldn't have. If given information that even Colin Powell (how odd that Obama trusts him so much after he sold the war to the US people and abroad) thought was enough to act on why wouldn't he have?
Fourth, she has never sat and taken part in a hate fest for 20 years. I haven't heard anything about her that makes me worry that she's a nutjob. I don't expect people in politics to have shiny clean lives but I want the real story on them. Obama has been protected by the media rather than investigated by them. We know Hillary's life in and out, right down to who blows her husband. We know that anything in Obama's life is a "distraction" and irrelevant and that's not good enough for me. I could let things he did slide if I was allowed to actually see a clear picture of him but I'm not. No disclosure, no trust.
